Why the Dose Calculator Left the LynkDose App (and Where to Find It Now)

Apple required us to take the dose calculator out of the LynkDose app. It is not gone, though: the full calculator is still free on our website.

The short version

Apple required us to remove the dose and reconstitution calculator from the LynkDose app, starting with version 1.5.5. There is nothing we can do about that rule inside the app. The calculator itself is not gone: it is still free on our website at lynkdose.com/calculator. Everything else in the app stays the same, and none of your data was touched.

If you opened LynkDose after updating and saw a notice that the dose calculator is gone, this post is the longer explanation. You deserve to know why a feature you may have relied on has disappeared from the app, and where you can still use it.

What changed in the app

These features are no longer in the LynkDose app:

  • The standalone Dose Calculator (previously in the Home menu and at the top of the log screens).
  • The Reconstitution Calculations panel when adding or editing a vial, including the “1 mL = …” concentration hint.
  • The syringe-unit hint next to scheduled doses on the Home screen.
  • The live conversion readout that turned a dose into mL or units while you logged it.
  • The per-compound breakdown for single-vial blends.

What stays exactly the same:

  • Every dose you have logged, plus your protocols, reminders, and schedules.
  • Your inventory, including the vial amount and BAC water you entered. Those are your own records, and LynkDose still keeps them.
  • Remaining-stock tracking and low-stock alerts.
  • Analytics, weekly recaps, journal, Apple Health correlation, bloodwork, and the AI assistant.

Why Apple made us remove it

Every app on the App Store is reviewed against Apple’s App Review Guidelines. Guideline 1.4.2, under Safety, says that apps calculating medication dosages must be submitted by the medication’s manufacturer, or by a recognized institution such as a hospital, insurance company, pharmacy, or university.

In October 2026, App Review re-evaluated LynkDose. They decided that our dose and reconstitution calculations fell under that rule, and gave us 14 days to ship an update without them or have the app removed from sale. LynkDose is built by a small independent team, not a pharmacy or a hospital, so there was no way for us to qualify. Removing the calculator from the app was the only way to keep LynkDose on the App Store.

We did not want to lose it. Reconstitution math is genuinely error-prone, which is exactly why we built the calculator in the first place. But this is Apple’s rule for apps on its store, and it is not something we can appeal our way around.

The calculator is still on our website

Apple’s rule covers apps distributed through the App Store. It does not cover our website, so the calculator still lives there, free, with no account needed:

Peptide Reconstitution Calculator

Enter your vial amount, BAC water, and dose to see the draw in mL and insulin-syringe units, with a visual syringe fill.

Open the calculator

Free · works in any browser · no signup

Tip: add it to your iPhone Home Screen. Open lynkdose.com/calculator in Safari, tap the Share button, then choose Add to Home Screen. It opens in one tap, right next to the app. Work out your draw there, then log the dose in LynkDose like you always have.

As always, the calculator is a math tool, not medical advice. If you are unsure about a dose or how to prepare a vial, check with your prescriber or pharmacist.

Will it come back to the app?

Only if Apple’s policy changes, or if we partner with a recognized institution that can publish the calculator under its own name. If either of those happens, we will announce it here first. Questions in the meantime? Use Settings → Contact Support in the app. We read every message.

Frequently asked questions

Why did LynkDose remove the dose calculator?

Apple required it. App Review Guideline 1.4.2 only allows apps that calculate medication dosages if they are published by the drug’s manufacturer or a recognized institution, such as a hospital, pharmacy, insurance company, or university. LynkDose is none of those, so to stay on the App Store we had to remove every feature in the app that calculates a dose, a draw volume, or a reconstituted concentration.

Can I still use the calculator?

Yes. The free peptide reconstitution calculator on our website works the same way: enter your vial amount, BAC water, and dose to see the draw in mL and insulin-syringe units. It runs in any browser, with no install or signup.

Did I lose any of my data?

No. Your dose logs, protocols, reminders, inventory, vial details, journal, and analytics are all exactly as they were. Only the calculations were removed from the app.

Will the calculator come back to the app?

Only if Apple’s policy changes or we partner with a recognized institution that can publish it. If either happens, we will announce it here first.
